With returns on the recent investment programme generating new customers and increases in subcontract manufacturing orders from existing long standing customers, Rodmatic Limited has appointed Alan Iddenden as Business Development Manager and Kirsty Pulsakowska in the role of sales/customer support under sales director Bob Todd.
Explained Managing Director Brian Steatham: "While the volume production side of the business Rodmatic Multico tends to have a stable customer base where the focus is on varying production schedules, the high technology Hytek operation buzzes as a hive of activity and change. This is largely due to the level of quotations and the integration of new work which, by its nature, tends to be smaller batches of more complex parts and draws on the expertise of people right across the business." He said: "This level of activity needs very high levels of attention to detail and co-ordination with lots of customer contact."
Rodmatic Hytek has a multi-axis Daewoo Puma MC2000ST turn-mill centre, two Doosan Lynx three- and two-axis lathes, two Star CNC sliding head autos and a Fanuc OiD CNC wire cut centre all with CAD to CAM support. There are also a Dürr programmable wash, Tesa non-contact measurement and CNC controlled co-ordinate measuring machines installed for use across the group. The two Rodmatic divisions based on the same site in Reading employ 60 people and registered an increase of 30 per cent in sales in the last financial year.
