Rodmatic implements new manufacturing system

Jobshop Paragon from Huckerby Royall Systems Ltd. The Total Business Solution for the Engineering Industry.

Rodmatic Precision Engineering, manufacturer of precision turned parts, has today implemented a new manufacturing control system to help streamline the company's production processes. Rodmatic selected Jobshop Paragon software by Huckerby Royall as the package that was most suitable for its needs.

Said Operations Manager Chris Lloyd, "we looked at 5 or 6 different software packages, and chose Jobshop Paragon as having the closest fit for our business needs. We wanted a system that covered all aspects of our production processes, from sales order processing through the production process, to delivering the finished product. Jobshop Paragon does the lot."

The package includes an MRP module that suggests both purchase and works order quantities based on sales orders and on-hand stock figures. With a powerful scheduling capability, the company can also forward or backward plan their processes to prevent bottlenecks or identify areas where capacity can be improved. "By entering a forecast from our customers," continued Chris "we can smooth out the peaks and troughs of production and provide an increased level of service."

Communication with both customers and suppliers has been improved with the introduction of automated sales order acknowledgements and invoices and real time progress reports on work in progress. Chris is particularly keen to eventually offer customers secured access to the system to enable them to interrogate their orders, work in progress and stockholding. The increased visibility reduces time spent by customers, suppliers and the company in tracing orders and reporting on their status, thus enhancing the overall production flow.

Rodmatic was established in 1963. The company is committed to providing its customers with excellent quality and service at competitive prices.
